11 Fun-Filled, Fall Pet Activities In Island and Snohomish Counties

With summer coming to an end, fall is a great time to enjoy in some of our local activities with your pet around Island & Snohomish Counties or to help support our local pet charities. Here are a few of our favorites:

#1 SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 23,  – At the Stanwood Library, Stanwood, WA, 1PM, TALES TO TAILS. At the Arlington library, Arlington, WA 11AMWAGGIN’ TALES. Children can read a tale or two to therapy pets! They’re great listeners and reading aloud helps them strengthen reading skills and improve their reading confidence.

#2 SATURDAY, OCTOBER 7, 9AM-12PM Join the Animal Rescue Foundation of Everett for a Dog Friendly 5K Run/Walk! Langus Riverfront Park, 400 Smith Island Rd, Everett, WA. They will have prizes for winners and lots of dog friendly vendors, sponsors and activities. Events like these help to raise money for the animals in the care of the Everett Animal Shelter! #3 THURSDAY, OCTOBER 14, 1PM-9PM, CAMANO PUMPKIN PROJECT – Kristoferson Farm, 332 NE Camano Dr. Camano Island. Pumpkins, Live Music, and Beer Garden. Dogs must be kept on a leash. Proceeds will benefit Camano & Stanwood charities: CASA, Stanwood Food Bank, RE/MAX Community Grant Chest, Safe Harbor Free Clinic, & Stanwood Camano Resource Center. #5 SATURDAY, OCTOBER 21, 1PM-5PM,Old Dog Haven 2018 Calendar Release Party – Northwest Cellars, 11909 124th Ave NE, Kirkland, WA. Join Old Dog Haven dogs and their parents for a fun filled afternoon sipping great wine and celebrating the release of our 2018 calendar. #6 PUMPKIN OR APPLE PICKING It’s a quintessential autumn tradition where you can spend time with your pet. They may even help you find your way out of a corn maze or help you select that perfect pumpkin!

#7 NATURE’S COLOR-CHANGING MAGIC – Take your pet along and enjoy the fall foliage during a trail hike. Just make sure to provide protection from fleas and ticks. Or, you could have some backyard fun playing in leaf piles, dogs will find this completely fascinating.

#8 OUTDOOR ADVENTURES – Before it gets too cold, pack up the tent or camper and go camping. It’s a wonderful time to get out and enjoy the crisp air, earthy smells and spend some time together.

#9 TRICK or TREAT – Dress up your pup in your favorite Halloween costume and share a scoop of plain pumpkin or a pumpkin treat with your pet, it’s actually really good for their health.

#10 GAME DAY – Get your pet his favorite team jersey and watch a game together. Afterwards, spend time outside in the yard playing a game of football or fetch.

#11 CIDER AND CUDDLES – Finally, curl up on the couch and get ready to snuggle with your best friend while enjoying a hot cup of cider.
