Please note that dogs are prohibited on all trails in Mount Rainier and Olympic National Parks. As well, they are not allowed in the North Cascades National Park except for the Pacific Crest Trail. All dogs must be kept on leashes and dog waste packed out unless otherwise noted. Some areas will require a Washington Discovery Pass.

Here are a few local places to get you and Fido out for an adventure.

Off Leash Areas and Dog Parks:

Edmonds Marina Beach Park | Located at the very south end of Edmonds Marina Park. Off leash area for dogs to run, swim in the sound and interact with fellow canines.

Double Bluff Beach | Located at the south end of Whidbey Island. Dogs can run free along the sandy beach during low tide and swim in the water. Please keep dogs on a leash until you pass the windsock. (My dog Bailey gave this beach a 5-paw rating, it was her favorite)

Heritage Off Leash Dog Park | Located in Stanwood.

Trails:

Boulder River Trail | Located near Arlington. Trail is 8.4 mile out and back.

Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Park Trail | Located near Issaquah. Trail is 35.5 mile loop trail.

Cranberry Lake | Located near Anacortes. Trail is a 6.6 mile loop.

East Lake Sammamish Trail | Located near Redmond. Trail is a 11 mile point-to-point.

Forest Island Trail | Located near Seattle. Trail is a 2 mile loop that features a lake.

Gold Creek Trail | Located near Sequim. Nice ferry ride from Coupville and features a river. Trail is 7.2 mile point-to-point.

Green Lake Loop | Located near Seattle. Trail is 3 mile out and back around a lake.

Oyster Dome Trail | Located near Bow. Trail is 6.5 mile out and back that features a cave.

Sammamish River Trail | Located near Redmond. Trail is a 13 mile trail that features a river.

Snohomish County Centennial Trail | Located near Snohomish. Trail is a 29 mile point-to-point trail that features a lake.

Soaring Eagle Park Trail | Located near Sammamish. Trail is a 10.9 mile loop featuring a great forest setting.

Spruce Railroad Trail | Located near Port Angeles, via ferry from Coupeville. Trail is a 4 mile point-to-point trail and features a lake.

Tolt Pipeline | Located near Bothell. Trail is 16 mile out and back and features scenic views.

Tommy Thompson Trail | Located near Anacortes. The trail extends from the Anacortes waterfront down to Fidalgo Bay.

Tradition Lake Plateau \ Located near Issaquah. Trail is a 6 mile loop.

West Tiger Mountain | Located near Issaquah. Trail is a 6 mile out and back trail.

Wilburton Hill Park and Kelsey Creek Farm \ Located near Bellevue. Trail is a 8 mile multiple route trail.
